Oh, YouTube. You have everything, don’t you? This is a little…weird at times, funny at times, and slightly relevant video parodying Progressive car insurance and Lord of the Rings. It’s ambitious, to say the least.
One thing I’ve been noticing about Progressive car insurance is that they have been targeting younger drivers, mainly teens. They do this in a somewhat sloppy way, evidenced by the Progressive teen auto insurance story on their site from a girl named Elvira that starts off with “…I was crushing on this guy named Mike,” and which I’m sure was written by a forty year old man. However, it is worth looking into, since no other car insurance company has gone so far in trying to discuss Progressive teen auto insurance on the teen’s level instead of on the parents. Too many teens don’t learn anything about their auto insurance while they’re on their parents policy, and then have to start all over again when they move out on their own.
Looking at the site, it doesn’t seem that Progressive teen auto insurance is as good for young drivers as other companies are. For example, unlike practically every company out there, Progressive does not have a good student discount or a discount for taking driver’s education course. While they claim these discounts don’t make much of a difference, I can tell that looking at my car insurance premium before I applied them and after, they certainly do. Some companies give you as much as a twenty five percent discount for good grades. That’s a big difference. Sorry, Progressive teen auto insurance, but no.
What the Progressive teen auto insurance website does do is offer some good advice for young drivers. While it doesn’t go into depth on individual issues like I might do here, it does give a good bare bones presentation of what car insurance is and what affects your rates. However, if you want to get a teen auto insurance quote, it’s better to go elsewhere.
